Surah Az-Zalzalah

إِذَا زُلۡزِلَتِ ٱلۡأَرۡضُ زِلۡزَالَهَا

When the earth is shaken with its [final] earthquake

وَأَخۡرَجَتِ ٱلۡأَرۡضُ أَثۡقَالَهَا

And the earth discharges its burdens[1962]

[1962] See verse 84:4.

وَقَالَ ٱلۡإِنسَٰنُ مَا لَهَا

And man says,[1963] "What is [wrong] with it?" -

[1963] In terror and amazement.

يَوۡمَئِذٖ تُحَدِّثُ أَخۡبَارَهَا

That Day, it will report its news

بِأَنَّ رَبَّكَ أَوۡحَىٰ لَهَا

Because your Lord has inspired [i.e., commanded] it.

يَوۡمَئِذٖ يَصۡدُرُ ٱلنَّاسُ أَشۡتَاتٗا لِّيُرَوۡاْ أَعۡمَٰلَهُمۡ

That Day, the people will depart[1964] separated [into categories] to be shown [the result of] their deeds.

[1964] From the place of Judgement to their final abode. Another interpretation is "emerge separately" (from the graves) .

فَمَن يَعۡمَلۡ مِثۡقَالَ ذَرَّةٍ خَيۡرٗا يَرَهُۥ

So whoever does an atom's weight[1965] of good will see it,

[1965] Or "the weight of a small ant."

وَمَن يَعۡمَلۡ مِثۡقَالَ ذَرَّةٖ شَرّٗا يَرَهُۥ

And whoever does an atom's weight of evil will see it.
